The Stow Police Department provides D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) to the sixth-grade class at Stow-Munroe Falls Schools. D.A.R.E. consists of police officer-led lessons that teach students how to resist negative peer pressure and to become leaders by being sources of encouragement (positive peer pressure).

Stow’s K-9 Unit was established in 1994 as a means to augment traditional police services to the community. Currently Stow has two fully certified tracking, drug sniffing, and bite trained K-9 units.
