It is with careful consideration and a focus on maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors that the City of Stow announces the removal of the sandbox and diggers at Skip Playground.
Despite our best efforts to provide a fun and interactive play area, we have encountered ongoing issues with the misuse of the sandbox and diggers. Unfortunately, these tools have been repeatedly broken. Some visitors have brought their own buckets and used them to transport sand into water fountains, bathroom sinks, and toilets. This behavior has caused significant maintenance challenges, including clogged plumbing and damaged facilities, which disrupts the experience for all playground users.
Maintaining clean and functional facilities is essential for the health and safety of everyone who visits Skip Playground. The repeated misuse of the diggers and sandbox has made it clear that we need to take action to prevent further damage and ensure that our playground remains a welcoming and well-maintained space.
We understand that this decision may disappoint some children and parents who have enjoyed these features. However, our priority is to preserve the quality of the playground and its facilities for the entire community. We are exploring alternative options for engaging and safe play equipment that will continue to offer fun and educational experiences for our children.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these necessary changes. If you have any questions or suggestions for future playground improvements, please feel free to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping Skip Playground a fantastic place for everyone.
