State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Karvo is currently working south of SR 59 with installing sidewalks. Thursday June 25th Karvo will be milling the asphalt, and this will be followed up with pavement repairs and 4 ft asphalt berm slots being installed next week. A new curb with a wider radius for truck turning movements in front of CVS should be placed Friday. Handicap ramp work will take place at Arndale, Hibbard, and Fishcreek. Signal work is ongoing at Beech, Hibbard Dr., Norton, and Fishcreek. Access to the Bike Trail off Fishcreek Road has started with steps being installed, but they need railings, and the surrounding area needs seeding and mulching before available to use.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project
Perram Electric has completed placing poles and mast arms on SR 59 at all locations. Handicap Ramps installation could be completed within a week, then seeding and mulch. Final pavement marking will be added after the Fourth of July.

State Route 91 (Darrow Road) Reconstruction Project:
The east side of SR 91 from Kent Road to Graham Road, as well as the section north of Graham Road to the Post Office, has been completed. The intermediate course of asphalt has been paved, and the work zone is expected to be removed this week.
ADA curb ramp installation is underway this week at Lillian, Arndale, and Commerce. Signal work continues at the Beech and Hibbard Drive intersections.
Construction of the Fishcreek Road bike trail access is also progressing. Steps have been installed, but railings still need to be added, and the surrounding area requires seeding and mulching before the access point can be opened for public use.
State Route 59 (Kent Road) Signal Project:
Perram Electric has completed the installation of poles and mast arms at all SR 59 project intersections. By next week, signal upgrades are expected to be complete at all locations except Marsh Road, which is awaiting an electrical service connection.
ADA curb ramp installation will begin following the completion of all signal work.

State Route 91 (Darrow Road) Reconstruction Project:
Karvo is currently working on the east side of SR 91 from Kent Road to Graham Road, as well as north of Graham Road to the Post Office. Placement of the intermediate asphalt course is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, weather permitting. ADA ramp installation will take place following the completion of signal work.
Signal work continues between Beech Drive and Hibbard Drive, while signal upgrades at Arndale Road and Lillian Road have been completed. Installation of access to the Bike Trail off Fishcreek Road is expected to begin next week.
State Route 59 (Kent Road) Signal Project:
Perram Electric has completed installation of poles and mast arms at all SR 59 project locations. Signal upgrades have been completed at the intersections of SR 91/SR 59, SR 91/Hiwood, and SR 59/Charring Cross.
Work to transition the remaining intersections to the new traffic signals is underway and is expected to be completed by early June. ADA ramp installation will follow the completion of signal work and is anticipated to take place during June and July.

Karvo has switched zones to working on the east side of SR 91 from Kent Road to Graham Road and north of Stow Road to Uniondale. Landscapers are completed for now. All handicap ramp work will take place after the signal work is completed. Signal work is ongoing between Beech and Hibbard Dr. Access to the Bike Trail off of Fishcreek has started.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Perram Electric has started placing poles and signal heads on SR 59 at multiple locations. They have completed SR 91/SR 59. Other locations will start being change over to the new traffic signals. Handicap Ramps will take place after signal work is completed.

Karvo is currently working in multiple construction zones along SR 91. Landscaping crews are scheduled to begin placing topsoil, seeding, and mulching on the west side of SR 91 south of Graham Road around May 1. ADA ramp installation will take place following the completion of signal work.
Signal work is ongoing between Beech Drive and Hibbard Drive. Sidewalk installation on the west side is nearing completion. Beginning next week, work is expected to start on improving access to the bike trail off Fishcreek Road. Manhole adjustments have been completed.

Work is expected to continue next week at the SR 91/SR 59 intersection, as well as other areas as materials are delivered. State Route 91 – Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo is currently operating in multiple construction zones along SR 91. Landscaping crews are placing topsoil, seeding, and mulching on the west side of the roadway. ADA ramp installation will occur following the completion of signal work.
Signal work is ongoing, with new poles and signal heads being installed at Hibbard, Commerce, Arndale, and Lillian. Storm sewer work from south of Graham Road to Kent Road, along with portions of sidewalk on the west side, has been completed.
Beginning next week, crews will start asphalt milling, pavement repairs, and placement of intermediate asphalt on the west side of SR 91 from Kent Road to the Post Office. Manhole adjustments are also scheduled to begin.
Enbridge continues gas line work south of SR 59, with completion anticipated later this month. Utility pole relocations by Adell Durbin are also underway.

State Route 91 – Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo is currently working in two primary construction zones. The first is located north of Ritchie Road on the west side of Darrow Road, where concrete sidewalk installation is underway. ADA curb ramp installation will occur after signal work is completed.
The second major zone extends from south of Graham Road to Kent Road, beginning near the Marc’s driveway on the west side. Storm sewer installation is in progress, along with curb and gutter removal. New curb installation is scheduled to begin next week.
Cornerstone Electric will also be working in smaller zones at various intersections from Fishcreek Road south to the Post Office.
Enbridge continues gas line work south of SR 59 and along Hawthorne, with completion anticipated in early April. Utility pole relocation by Adell Durbin is also ongoing and will proceed as weather permits.

Perram Electric is scheduled to begin work at various intersections. Signal poles are currently being finalized, approved, and delivered to the project site, with signal work anticipated to be completed by this summer. ADA curb ramp installation will follow completion of the signal work.
Enbridge will also begin gas line replacement at various locations along SR 59 and Fishcreek Road in the near future.

Underground signal work at various intersections has been limited this winter due to weather conditions. Enbridge continues gas line work south of SR 59 and along Hawthorne through March; however, work was temporarily suspended in February due to extreme cold temperatures. Utility pole relocation by Adell Durbin is also underway and will proceed as weather permits. Karvo anticipates beginning storm sewer work in early March, weather dependent.
State Route 59 – Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge continues gas line replacement at various locations along SR 59 and Fishcreek Road. This work was paused in February due to weather conditions. Perram Electric is expected to return in March once the signal poles have been delivered to the project.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Underground signal work began on January 9. The signal contractor plans to continue working throughout the winter at various intersections; however, much of this work is weather-dependent, and progress may be limited on colder days. Enbridge gas line work south of SR 59 is scheduled to continue through March, but activity has been temporarily suspended until February due to extreme cold temperatures. Utility pole relocation by Adell Durbin is also underway and will proceed as weather conditions allow.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge is continuing gas line replacement at several locations along SR 59 at Marsh Road and Fishcreek Road; however, this work has been paused until February because of weather conditions. Perram Electric is expected to return around the beginning of March once the signal poles have been delivered to the project.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo has completed all drive approaches and retaining walls north of Ritchie Road. The remaining concrete work is weather dependent and may be pushed back to spring. Underground signal work could start on January 9th or January 12th. The signal contractor plans on working this winter at various intersections. Enbridge gas line work is taking place south of SR 59 until the end of February. Utility pole relocation work by Adell Durbin is also taking place.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge continues gas line replacement work at various locations along SR 59/ Marsh Road and SR 59/Fishcreek Road. This work will require lane closures in different areas along these roads. Pedestrians may encounter intermittent sidewalk obstacles during this activity. Perram Electric is scheduled to return around the first of March when the signal poles are delivered to the project.

State Route 91 – Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo has completed all drive approaches and will continue work on retaining walls and restoration along the west side of SR 91 north of Ritchie Road, as well as on the east side near Pointe View north of Hibbard Drive. All work remains weather-dependent. Water valve adjustments are now complete, and underground signal work may begin in January. Construction activity will ease during the holiday weeks to help accommodate increased seasonal traffic.
State Route 59 – Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge is continuing gas line replacement at various locations along SR 59 and Fishcreek Road, which will require periodic lane closures throughout the corridor. Pedestrians may experience occasional sidewalk disruptions during this work. Perram Electric is scheduled to return on Tuesday, December 16, for several days to install cabinets for the new signal controllers. Signal work will also lessen during the holiday weeks to minimize traffic impacts. Gas line work will continue but will pause on the holidays.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo has completed all driveway approaches and will continue work on sidewalks, retaining walls, and restoration along the west side of SR 91 north of Ritchie Road, weather permitting. Water valve adjustments in the curb lane are also scheduled to take place this week, with completion expected by December 12. This work will require additional traffic maintenance, resulting in one northbound lane and one southbound lane. Cornerstone Electric is expected to begin underground signal work in January. Construction activity will be reduced during the holiday week to help ease seasonal traffic.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge continues gas line replacement at various locations along SR 59 and Fishcreek Road, which will require periodic lane closures throughout the corridor. Pedestrians may experience temporary sidewalk disruptions during this work. Perram Electric is scheduled to return in mid-December to install pedestrian push-button poles, controllers, and complete additional non–signal pole tasks. Construction activity will be scaled back during the holiday week to accommodate increased holiday traffic.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Karvo has completed all surface course paving between the Post Office and Norton Road. Striping is temporary and will be updated before winter. Final epoxy striping will go down late next summer. Karvo will continue to work on drive approaches, sidewalks, retaining walls and restoration on the west side north of Ritchie Road. Karvo will also make all Manholes safe and provide adjustments to water valves. Cornerstone Electric may work on some signal work starting in December.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Enbridge continues to work on gas line replacement. In December, Perram Electric will move back in and install pedestrian push button poles, controllers, and other non signal pole work. Signal poles are to be delivered late in February 2026.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Beginning Mon., November 3, 2025, Karvo Construction will pave the intermediate asphalt course from Ritchie Road to Norton Road. From Tuesday through Friday, crews will pave the final surface course from the Post Office to Norton Road.
Please be aware that access to driveways and intersections may be temporarily delayed while the new pavement is rolled and compacted. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to complete this important roadway improvement.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Karvo Construction has shifted operations to Segment 2, from Ritchie Road to Norton Road, on the west side of SR 91. Concrete curbs have been replaced, and asphalt milling is complete. Slot paving is scheduled for Wed., October 29. Asphalt repairs will follow on Friday, with the intermediate course planned for placement during the first week of November. Upcoming work includes replacing concrete drive approaches, installing new sidewalks, constructing retaining walls, and completing improvements along the west side of the corridor.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
Perram Electric has completed all scheduled work for the season. Remaining signal pole installations are anticipated for late winter or early spring, once materials arrive. Enbridge will begin gas line work from Fishcreek Road to the Stow-Kent Shopping area in early November.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project:
Work on Segment 2 – East Side (Ritchie to Norton) is nearly complete, with only guardrail installation and landscaping remaining. Landscaping crews are currently finishing and fertilizing Segments 1 and 2.
On the West Side of Segment 2 (Ritchie to Hibbard), the contractor has begun removing curb and gutter, replacing storm sewers, and installing underdrains. Karvo Construction plans to work on Sat., October 11. Once bridge work is finished, traffic will shift to the east side of SR 91 to allow work to continue.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project:
A crew will return on Mon., October 13 to complete final cleanup, temporary seeding, and mulching. Perram Construction is not scheduled to return until late winter or early spring, once the signal poles are delivered.
Please note: Enbridge Gas will begin gas line replacement work in October; this work is not part of the SR 59 Signal Project.

Segment 2 East side intermediate asphalt course from Ritchie Road to Norton Road is completed. Guard rails, mail boxes, and sidewalks are scheduled over the next week.. The landscapers are coming back next week to touch up and fertilize Segment 1and start seeding and mulching the east side from Ritchie to Norton Road. When the east side is completed the contractor will start on the west side between Ritchie and Norton Road.
Kent Road Signals is finishing the underground work by Friday, October 3rd. at Marsh Road and Fishcreek Road. All SR 59 disturbed areas have been temporarily seeded. No signal work is scheduled until the signal poles are delivered late winter or early spring. Enbridge Gas line replacement work (not part of SUM-59-9.90) is scheduled to start sometime in October.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
On the Darrow Road reconstruction project, Karvo has completed storm sewer and underdrain installation on the east side between Ritchie Road and Fishcreek Road. Next steps include placing aggregate base in the slot, installing a retaining wall, and constructing a concrete curb. Once the curb is in place, crews will backfill to complete this phase.
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project
Work has begun on the Kent Road signal project with foundation and underground work completed at Sycamore Drive. Starting Mon., September 8, crews will continue underground and foundation work at the intersections of SR 91/Kent Road and Orchard/Kent Road. In addition, underground conduit installation will begin at Charring Cross and Fishcreek Road. Crews will continue progressing from west to east with underground and foundation work.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
- Karvo Construction is now working in the 2nd segment north of Ritchie Road on the East side.
- The subcontractor Keller has completed the retaining wall near Powers Brook north of Hibbard. The curbs, drive aprons, and catch basins are being removed. Drainage structures are being placed. Waterline conflicts and hydrants are being relocated. Underdrains are being placed just behind where the curbs are going to be installed.
- Work on this side is projected for the next 6 weeks.

Perram Electric will be drilling foundations at SR 91/SR 59 beginning today. A second crew from Perram Electric will be placing underground conduit and pull boxes this week at Sycamore Dr./SR 91. Underground Traffic signal work will continue working at the intersections going east over the next two months.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Karvo Construction transitioned work from Segment 1 to Segment 2 this week. As part of this phase, the northbound lanes on the east side (from Ritchie Road to Fishcreek Road) will be closed. Traffic shifted to the west side, with one lane open in each direction (northbound and southbound).

- Karvo beginning removal of curbs and catch basins

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Karvo Companies will be wrapping up work over the next week along the west side of SR 91, from the Post Office to Ritchie Road. This includes placing sidewalks, driveway approaches, backfill, and curbs. Seeding and mulching in this area began on Fri., August 1, 2025, and will be completed next week.
In addition, a new work zone has been established north of Hibbard Drive for the installation of a retaining wall. Keller Construction is scheduled to begin this work the week of August 4.
The transition to the southern work zone is expected to occur in approximately one week.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Paving through the intermediate course has been completed. The final surface course will be applied later this year. Paving and striping have been finished up to Ritchie Road.
During the week of July 21, Karvo Companies will begin grading, setting forms, and installing sidewalks and driveway approaches. Later in the week, crews will focus on cleanup, landscaping, and mailbox installation.

Progress continues on the State Route 91 project! The contractor has completed curb and gutter removal, underdrain installation, and most of the storm sewer work. During the short week of June 30th, layout for the new curb is scheduled, with installation anticipated later in the week. Once the curb is in and backfilled, sidewalk work may also begin.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Darrow Road traffic was switched over on Tuesday evening (6/16/25) from travelling on the west two lanes to travelling on the recently paved east two lanes. Construction work going on the west side started today. Work includes installing catch basins, manholes, and storm sewers. Also, concrete curb and gutter is being removed. The access to individual driveways is being maintained by placing steel plates over where the curb and gutter were removed.

Darrow Road paving of the intermediate course is scheduled for Friday, June 13. Striping will follow shortly after. The traffic switchover is planned for Sunday night. Once complete, traffic between the Post Office and Ritchie Road will shift to the east side of Darrow Road while reconstruction begins on the west side.

State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
Construction activities for the State Route 91 (Darrow Road) Reconstruction Project officially commenced on Tues., April 22, 2025. Work started on the east side of Darrow Road, across from Ritchie Road, extending south to Uniondale Drive near the Post Office
As part of the ongoing construction efforts, traffic within the designated work zone has been reduced to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time and to proceed with heightened caution when navigating the area.

SR 91 Darrow Road Reconstruction will begin Tues., April 22, 2025 starting on the east side of Darrow Road across from Ritchie Road going south to Uniondale Drive across from the Post Office. Traffic will be restricted to one lane northbound and one lane southbound in the construction zone.
A Public Information meeting for the SR 91 project will take place April 29, 2025 at 1 PM at Stow City Hall.

We’ve got important updates on upcoming work as part of the Crossroads 91/59 Project:
State Route 59, Kent Road Signal Project
Starting Monday, April 14, 2025, test excavation will begin at 9 signalized intersections along Kent Road. Work will start at Sycamore Drive and progress east to Fishcreek Road over the next three weeks. This is a key step in upgrading traffic signals along the corridor.
State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project
A preconstruction meeting is scheduled next week to finalize the construction timeline. Pending final plans, work may begin as soon as the week of April 21st.

The City of Stow has awarded contracts for two significant ODOT Local Public Agency (LPA) projects as part of CROSSROADS 91/59, a major initiative to improve local roadways.
The State Route 59, Kent Road Traffic Signal Project, bid on February 20, was awarded to Perram Electric, Inc. for $2.2 million. Underground work is expected to begin in late April or early May, but signal pole delivery delays may push some work into winter. The project is scheduled for completion by fall 2026.
The State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project, bid on February 27, was awarded to Karvo Companies, Inc. for nearly $12.9 million. Construction is set to begin in late April, starting just north of the Post Office and progressing toward Norton Road. The final segment will be south of SR 59 to the Munroe Falls Corporation line. This work is scheduled to coincide with the SR 91 Bridge deck replacement over the Cuyahoga River in Munroe Falls. ODOT will be closing SR 91 south of SR 59 to through traffic for approximately 45 days. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
Residents should anticipate traffic impacts and plan accordingly as these improvements get underway.
