The project is currently in the final stages of design with construction set to begin in the summer of 2025. In addition to the new traffic signal infrastructure, the City will be implementing a new emergency vehicle preemption system which functions utilizing GPS receivers in police, fire and EMS vehicles. The system aims to provide emergency vehicles with smoother travel through signalized intersection and decreased response times. Other improvements include:
- New traffic signal mast arms, lights, and equipment
- Accessible pedestrian signal (APS) systems
- Improving deficient pedestrian facilities
- Upgraded vehicle detection
- Flashing Yellow Arrow (FYA) implementation
