October 2023 Mayor Letter

Dear Community,

With the onset of the Fall season, we are anticipating a variety of exciting endeavors that lie ahead for our community. These include engaging events, impactful programs, valuable community services, and significant initiatives.

Residential Leaf Pick Up Program: This is always one of our most popular city services. As temperatures fall, so do the leaves! The program begins on October 30. For a full list of scheduled pick-up dates, districts, and guidelines, visit the following: Leaf Pick Up Program

In this newsletter, you will find the dates for many other exciting events: our annual neighborhood trick or treat night, our third annual Haunted Hayride, and our Halloween Decoration Tour; to name a few! For all events, visit our website events page, and follow our Fun in Stow Facebook page

I am excited to share that we continue to invest in our community, making steady progress on improvements and initiatives such as roads, sidewalks, parks, facilities, and playgrounds. Businesses are investing in our community as well. In 2023, Stow is set to welcome three major corporations to its cityscape: Haydon Corporation, a prominent construction materials manufacturer; Wilson Companies, a long-standing family-owned business; and Suncrest Gardens, a respected landscape and garden center. Their substantial investments in establishing headquarters within our city promise to make a significant economic impact on our region, thanks to their multimillion-dollar payroll commitments.

We exert tremendous effort in pursuing economic development opportunities, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome these businesses to Stow. Without a doubt, their decisions to join us is a triumph for the City of Stow and the entire region. The attractiveness of our city to businesses is rooted in several factors, including our proximity to major highways, highly skilled workforce, and excellent utility infrastructure. In the year 2023, an impressive number of new businesses have established their presence in Stow, which has brought significant growth and opportunities to our community.

The City of Stow is poised to navigate the remainder of this year with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and an unwavering commitment to achieving remarkable success. And, as always, I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input, and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic

Mayor, City of Stow
