Dear Community,
The City of Stow has much to celebrate! And this time of year, we focus on bringing our community together to do just that! Residents and visitors have many opportunities to Celebrate Stow this year. And we hope everyone will participate in some way.
We have an abundance of fun family events coming up during our Celebrate Stow Week, which is already underway. This year’s theme is Show Stow Spirit, #CelebrateStow! I am honored and pleased to announce that our Skip Playground Grand Opening will take place during this celebration time! Join us on July 2 for this celebratory occasion. The Splash Bash event, our traditional parade, and our Firecracker Run are among the many other events we are hosting. The Concert on the Green scheduled for June 30 has been postponed, and another date will be announced soon for Disco Express! Visit our website for all of our wonderful events.
I am happy to announce that this year’s Stow Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal has been selected - ALL construction volunteers who had a hand in building the 1991 Skip Playground! I ask all residents to join me in this expression of appreciation for their dedication and hard work on behalf of the Stow community.
I am excited to report that we continue to invest in the infrastructure in our community, making steady progress on our improvement initiatives. Ultimately, our goal is to provide the best services to our residents, and to make sure our community is sustainable. Ongoing initiatives include:
- Continuation of Park and Facility Improvements
- Summer Road Improvement Project underway
- Sidewalk construction project underway
As we move ahead in 2023, my goals for the year ahead continue to include focusing on the needs of our residents, keeping our city at the forefront of economic and business development, building strong partnerships with our local businesses, and supporting departments that keep our neighborhoods safe, while enhancing our quality of life.
It’s not just about today – it’s about our future. Together, we are moving Stow forward! I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.
Sincerely,
John Pribonic
Mayor, City of Stow
